Patients often face challenges in booking medical appointments due to long wait times, limited scheduling options, and complex procedures. Many existing systems lack user-friendly interfaces, making the process frustrating and time-consuming. This inefficiency leads to delays in healthcare

access and decreased patient satisfaction. A streamlined, intuitive solution is needed to enhance accessibility and ease the booking experience.

Problem

Lengthy Wait Times for Appointments make it difficult for patients to secure timely medical appointments, leading to delays in healthcare access. Inefficient scheduling systems and high demand often cause frustration and inconvenience. A smarter, optimized booking system is needed to reduce waiting periods and improve patient experience.

Complex and Confusing Booking Process frustrates users, making it difficult to schedule appointments efficiently. Poor interface design and unclear navigation often lead to confusion and drop-offs. A streamlined, user-friendly system is essential to enhance accessibility and improve the overall experience.

Limited Scheduling Flexibility makes it challenging for users to find convenient appointment slots. Rigid time options and lack of real-time updates often lead to missed or delayed bookings. A dynamic system with multiple scheduling choices can enhance accessibility and user satisfaction.

Implemented an intelligent scheduling system that optimizes available slots and reduces booking delays, ensuring faster access to healthcare services.

Designed an intuitive, user-friendly interface with a step-by-step guided booking flow, minimizing user frustration and enhancing accessibility.

Integrated real-time availability updates and multiple scheduling options, empowering users to book, reschedule, or cancel appointments effortlessly.

Design Process

In order to achieve the goal, I used to holistic approach known as “UX Design Thinking Process” to solve the problem. As it is a non-linear process, I came back to previous stages from testing to ensure that the process makes the user experience better by incorporating the feedback. A little improvement in a step or process can bring a large impact for a product.

User Survey

As part of the user research technique, I began this project by sending out a sample survey with 12 questions to general users among age 40 and older via social media platforms and personally met with some of senior citizens, to get brief answers about their opinions, preferences, attitudes and feelings. User Persona

User persona is a fictional character to represent a user type that might use in a site, brand or product. User persona is important to helping design product to meet the needs of the users.

The user seamlessly accesses the platform, searches for providers by specialty and availability, and reviews detailed profiles. After selecting a time slot, they confirm the appointment and receive a notification. Flexible rescheduling and cancellation options ensure a smooth, user-friendly experience for all.

Wireframe

The wireframe for the urgent care booking website focuses on a clean, intuitive layout for seamless navigation. A structured homepage allows users to quickly search providers by specialty, location, and availability. Detailed provider profiles offer essential information, including services, reviews, and appointment slots. A clear booking flow, with confirmation and rescheduling options, ensures a user-friendly experience.

Style Guide

The style guide for the medical appointment booking platform emphasizes a clean, user-friendly design with a focus on accessibility. The color palette uses calming blues and greens to convey trust and professionalism, with high contrast text for readability. Fonts are simple and legible, with larger sizes for key information. Buttons are prominently displayed with clear labels like "Book Appointment" and "Reschedule." Icons are intuitive, aiding navigation, while ample white space ensures a clutter-free, comfortable user experience for all users, including less tech-savvy individuals.

Visual Design

The platform’s visual design emphasizes clarity and simplicity with a clean, modern layout. Key elements are prominently displayed using a card-style interface and bold headings. Soft blues and greens create a calming, user-friendly experience. A clear visual hierarchy ensures seamless navigation and trust.
